had a few hrs mid week watching some youtube footage - and its really got to me watching Derek's enthusiasm and skill all those years back. I am a big Minds fan and love the new line up, as they have kept my dream alive - But i must say i get a major buzzw atching the old footage and seeing Derek do the do.

Simple Minds were veery very special all those years back and derek was a major part of the dream that ran through my head at that time.

I wish Derek the best iof luck as he always makes me smile.

P.S - I have only seen FGM once and i was truly treated to a special day - just wish there were more chances down south .

Lovely words Lawrie. I always enjoy reading your thoughts on SSM and it's good to see you sharing them here also.

I also appreciate Derek's musicianship. He's done a fine job with every band I've seen him with - Simple Minds, Spear Of Destiny, Fourgoodmen, Los Mondo Bongo and The Alarm (Unfortunately I never got to see him play with Propaganda), and he's always given 100% and more...

.. and someone who has time to chat to folks online and in "real life".. Smile

@ Shirl - well said - as I already stated in my Review from Dec. 4th / 5th 2008 - that`s one thing that makes them all so special !!!
