i would NEVER EVER go to dubai 1st , as i've already heard & read too many rather weird stories that happened to people there !
some places on this planet are best to avoid completely & dubai is definitely one of them imho !

I agree!!! One of the local Ajax (Amsterdam) fans was caught at Dubai Airport with 2 grammes of hash in his pocket a few months ago enroute to a 'friendly' football game in the Emirates - incidentally at the same time as some Radio One DJ had a VERY similar wrap. He's facing 4 years jail time.
I know some Muppet that moved there about 2 years back with a serious 'Hoovering' issue .... sniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiif!!!. If he get's caught, he'll be looking at a complimentary stay in the Dubai Hilton for about 10 years, rather than the Burj Al Arab (which I ACTUALLY WOULD like to visit!).
