Hiya all

I know I've let some of you know already via personal emails, but thought I'd let the rest of you know, that the big man John and I got engaged on 1 Oct. We bought the ring before we went on holiday on 13 Sept but decided to wait until 1 Oct, as that was the date we started going out together 5 years ago. With my tiny hands I decided against a rock, and went for a half eternity ring with diamonds and 5 emeralds (my birth stone, birth month May, 5 years together).

Idea

No wedding plans as yet, but I'd kinda like to hijack the Classic Grand post-Xmas gig a wee bit for an engagement get together with my 4gm-fan friends, though I'll have to talk the other half into coming with me for that, as he's not really one for gigs, unless I talk him into coming out for a nosh or drinkies with us at Crystal Palace, Little Italy or whereever. I have, believe it or not, persuaded him into coming to see, or rather "experience", the Saw Doctors with me at Barrowland on 28 Nov. If he survives being drowned in projectile beer (d'ya really think a wee thing like me could rescue a "Shrek"-sized bloke from that fate?) then you may get the pleasure of meeting him. We'll see what happens - no gifts please, only your presence and good wishes will be required.

Congrats Eileen. I posted your news here after receiving your email, so you will find some wishes here for you already!! Smile

I think I posted them in the Open House section but will check, and correct myself later if need be..

I will be up in Glasgow from 27-30 November, but unfortunately won't be able to get to the Saw Doctors gig, as it clashes with JJ Gilmour's slot at George Square. However, drop me an email and I'll try to catch up with you sometime that weekend.

I'll definitely see you in December though Very Happy
