Just so y'all get a picture of the new boy in 4GM..........

Tonight I am rocking Bishopbriggs Memorial Hall with a covers band that plays toonz by Killers, Stereophonics/U2 etc....it is 2 raise funds for a football team.........we are called The Longriders and look daft as we wear cowboy hats, stetsons, dusty old coats - the works.  We are trying to get some cattle on stage for a more authentic 'buzz'.....cowpat rock indeed!

Check out www.myspace.com/carnabysound to hear another one of my pub rock bands - a man has to rock n roll u no.......

I am also completing a solo album of my own tunes called 'The Boy With The Golden Dream' - it will be ready for early release next year, wow how exciting.....i love to go to open mike nights and sing tunes from my album, it's good to get a reaction from people

My influences on guitar are Bill Nelson, The Edge, Pretenders, Dr Feelgood, Midge Ure! and Keef (Y'all must buy The Stones DVD Shine a Light, n get off on Keef n Ronnie 'weaving' their magic strings) Razz

Anyway, that's enough about me.....let me know what yoos r up to n wot lights yer candle rock n roll wise

F x

I WILL be at Ultravox reunion gigs, when are they? - i loved Midges electric guitar playing in Ultravox, but questioned his moustachio!

Anyway, if yoos are interested to see my covers/rock group Carnaby Street, we are playing Rockers on Sat 22nd Nov, a stones throw from Classic Grand, also we are playing on 6th Dec at Sammy Dows...

I am soooo looking forward to jamming with Derek n Ian tomorrow night - Yo !  Cool

Definitely going to Manchester, FFL, not too sure about any of the others..

Westworld will probably be calling in April, so will have to watch the pennies that month..

(and not even commenting about the funds between now and February!!)

I always thought the late Cha Burns was a pretty inspirational rock guitarist.

hey dreem attak,

yes Cha did some shiny and fresh stuff on the axe, nice bright playing - i also loved McGeoch and Wilco Johnson
i think the Edge is the most inventive and emotive player in a long time Cool

presently i see that boy from Muse pushing boundaries with his synthy other-worldly sounds on geetar, plus the Killers guitar boy has agreat sound...... Wink

John McGeoch was also otherworldly - and a REALLY genuine, down-to-earth guy too - I think that his work with The Armoury Show was sublime, unfortunately (paraphrasing Altered Images first single) Yet another "Dead Scottish Pop Star". Sad

I used to love the Edge's playing too, circa Boy/October era, when I found it innovative and fresh.  Unfortunately, the past few years any initial enthusiasm I had originally with U2 has long since wained.

Can't say I'm too familiar with Wilco Johnson or the guy from Muse.  As for my knowledge of The Killers, I'm afraid my only exposure to them has been when they mimed on a New Order video.
