I'm delighted to announce that Monument are back at the Slanj in Greenock on Thursday 15 May. Keith and I should be making the trip north of the border for this one, and I'm hoping to catch up with various other folk while we are up there. I don't have any further details yet, but will gladly post more news here when I do.. unless Achmed beats me to it!!

IMPORTANT NOTICE
The gig is still going ahead in Greenock, but there is a change of venue. This was posted on Monument's forum by Mike.
Folks, please note that the VENUE for the Greenock gig on the 15th May has CHANGED.
The new venue is the Argyll and Sutherland Bar, 1 Bruce Street, Greenock.
All other details are the same, only the venue has changed which gives us more space on stage, more space for people, a venue which is a mere 150 yards from the nearest train station and has a BEER GARDEN for the smokers. (Why they call it a beer "garden" when it's paved with concrete and has no vegetation, other than some of the regulars, I'll never know).
Looking forward to seeing you there... |

Another change of plan.. Date and venue change as announced on Myspace, EV and Monument websites..
Folks, due to circumstances very much beyond our control we need to reschedule the Greenock gig originally booked for next week (May 15th). Unfortunately the venue needs to change as well, but on the plus side the day has been changed from Thursday to Friday.
The new date and venue is:
Friday June 27th
@
OXYGEN
1 - 3 Tobago St
Greenock
PA15 1PB
Tel 01475 725511
Ticket details to be announced soon.
Once again apologies for messing the plans of anyone planning to come see us next week. If we could have avoided the change we would.
Look forward to seeing you at the new place and time |

Shirl, was speaking with Big Stevie and we're trying to get a few bodies down to this but other gigs for several might just get in the way,did you manage to change your hotel bookings to accomodate the change of date?? _________________ Hyde |

We still stayed in Greenock on Thursday as planned, as we were up in Glasgow for a couple of days following that anyway.. (I went to see Ambitious Outsiders at Rockers on Friday, then The Illegal Eagles at the Royal Concert Hall on Saturday. Met up with Dougie, a pal of mine from the Hackenbush Herald forum at Rockers, where he was doing the photography that night.
We met up with Mike and Tommy from Monument, and went to a couple of bars in town before heading back to Tommy's for some more beers and foodstuffs before calling it a night around 1.30am. I'm very hopefull of being up for the Oxygen gig, and will no doubt be seeing them again before the end of the year.. |

Achmed phoned yesterday with the news of the cancellation. I'll be in Greenock on Friday anyway, and will be catching up with the Monument guys. No doubt I'll see them on them play live on "that" weekend if I don't catch one of their gigs before then. Sadly I won't be able to make it to the Citrus Club in Edinburgh next week - that looks like it's going to be a good night!! |

Hi Cari.. Hope you get to see Mike, Tell him I said hello and I've now recovered from the Snowdon experience. Funnily enough, I should be arriving in Rhyl on another walk as you see the band in Chicago!! Have fun!! |
