Tickets go on pre-sale to SimpleMinds.com members this morning and general sale on Friday.

So Derek - are you involved?  I do hope so!! I can't see how it can be a true celebration without you and Mick!

Jim and I are doing Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow up to now.  I cannae wait!

New Gold Dream 2008

Simple Minds will perform for the first time the entirety of their
1982 album `New Gold Dream' featuring the hits `Promised You a
Miracle', `Glittering Prize', and `Someone, Somewhere (In
Summertime)'.

The second half of the concert will see the band perform some of
their best known songs from their classic albums staring off
with `Life in a Day' (1979), `Reel To Reel Cacophony'
(1979), `Empires & Dance (1980), right up to their groundbreaking
first album with Virgin, `Sons & Fascination (1980) featuring the
hit `Love Song' .

The band will also highlight songs from the album `Sparkle in the
Rain' (1984) that includes the hits `Waterfront' and `Up On The
Catwalk', as well as the U.S. No.1 hit single `Don't You Forget About
Me' (1985), plus the benchmark album `Once Upon A Time' (1985)
featuring the massive global anthem `Alive and Kicking'.

But that's not all. The band will also perform songs like `Belfast
Child' from 1989's `Street Fighting Years' right up to 2004's return-
to-form album `Black & White 050505' featuring the songs `Home'
and `Stranger'.

Thursday 27th November: Manchester MEN Arena
Friday 28th November: Birmingham NEC
Saturday 29th November: Wembley Arena

Yeah, good point. Unfortunately though I think the current SM line-up will perform the forthcoming gigs. It's strange, as I discussed with someone not too long ago that if SM done a New Gold Dream album tour, I wonder if the band line-up would include Derek and Mick (as they co-wrote that particular album). More to the point, would Derek and Mick agree to do the tour if approached?

I'm not bothering with the tour. If I knew for certain that Derek and Mick were part of it then I'd be there like shitoffastick.  Laughing  Cool

Tabs, I guess until they step out on stage we won't know who will be in the line up. Could even be that Jim McDermott guy on drums, who knows?

I just thought they might have Mick and Derek just play the NGD set. but I'm sure I'll know what Derek's answer will be to that already! lol

It's weird because it's not a full on tour, but just a week of gigs.
So why not? A full celebration of the band not just the music.
Swallow pride and lets have the fans buzzing when they leave the arenas.
