And we were not worthy of knowing this news via this very web site untill tbster spills the beans!!
Shocking!!
And what about Mick??
NOW!!
Include him and that really would be an ALTERNATIVE Simple Minds
(Or ASM!(there's a name for you guys!!) )
Seems sad that as much as the fans were involved in everything in the early days of 4GM that we now seem to be shoved out into the cold and treated as an inconveinience!!, only my opinion guys but THATS how I feel right now.
YES!!,maybe the band should NEVER have got so familier with the fans but they did,and imho that was one of the major reasons WE spread the word and at nearly every gig we brought at least one more person each!!
For the Xmas gigs the world would try and get to Glasgow!!
Those gigs are already Legendery!!

Let the fans KNOW whats happening(or MIGHT happen)...we deserve at least that

well ... that's actually the most ridiculous name for a good band i've ever came across so far !  Rolling Eyes
even worse than "bruce watson's big country" , which was once up for discussion ( not really , after all ) , as bruce once wanted to continue with the slightly altered band name sometime in 2002 ( or 2003 ? ) iirc !  Embarassed
even barney of new order had the decency of NOT calling his new band ( barney's ) new order again , but bad lieutenant instead !
maybe derek & brian should've called their new band "the not so simple minds" instead !?  Twisted Evil
that would've been fun @ least & not so utterly LAME then ! Razz

"we ain't going nowhere" is indeed the right title for this subject , methinks ! Rolling Eyes

p. s. : "the other two" were already taken by gillian & stephen of new order btw !  Wink

Hello oh-jay-me_ole_stranger_matey  Wink

Some strong stuff fed back here.

Will, I only found out about the forthcoming OSM gig through the management link Derek posted in his 'Out to lunch' thread. I was surprised too, especially seeing it on that site in small print and not on here. You lot know as much as me about 4gm news these days. I stopped running the website almost two years ago now so I don't pay as much interest as back then. I only posted the news of the OSM gig incase no-one else knew about it, which it now seems they didn't.  Crying or Very sad

Anyway, let's roll with it and see what happens, eh. Give OSM a chance   Wink

Exactly my thoughts too Will ! Imagine me for example - working extra Shifts to get to GLA twice in December and still hoping for an Post-X-mas Gig....
And really - does that mean we only get contact again through this weird " Rockmanagement " Website ???  Crying or Very sad
I certainly know - that it already was an honour to have some short contact with some of 4gm.... but to let us down like this is simply not fair !!!

While I can empathize with what's being said here, I think it's only fair to hear the other side of the story. But hang on...if Degsy has withdrawn from public correspondance and isn't posting on here anymore (as seems the case), then how do we get the benefit of hearing the other side?

Being kept in the dark isn't very nice. An explanation would go some way to making people feel a bit better about the whole thing. I've sent PM's and direct e-mails...with no reply. I understand folk are busy, but although I'm no musician, I'm quite busy too as it happens. I still make time to answer my emails and PM's.

Quite disappointing after all the hours I put in for them not so long ago.

methinks that derek has withdrawn himself from here for almost the same reasons jim ( kerr ) has stopped using his twitter account to communicate with fans !

however ... people jus' come & go in life - nobody stays forever ... but some come back after quite a while !  Wink

make of it whatever u want now , folx !  Cool

Now now guys Wink

Your all reading into things as you've read the band are all VERY BUSY with other projects and they probably took on this Management thing to help them keep US up to date once they have something to report Smile

OK the OSM should have been posted here but as I've said there busy and we should all be grateful of the time and contact we've had from Derek and Co and if people keep reading into things this will stop them bothering to answer assumptions

So hang in there guys I know as much as you (hee! haw!) but I'm just waiting .................................................and waiting lol

A) there will be a gig soon with 4GM
B) there will be at least a new song from them
C) there will be a 4GM DEC GIG
D) I should get paid for this...........Smile

Fun
News at 10 Wink
Be cool guys
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
