2008 Liverpool Cavern gig - TBC (but not forgotten!)Hi folks
Not that I don't trust Degsy ( ) but thought I would start a thread re a "promised" gig in my home town next year (well sort of my home town - I work there but I'm a "Wirral" girl actually ). Derek just posted this in Lorie's Rotherham review thread. Wanted to copy it (evidence!) in case it disappears :

There'll be no trouble in getting a good posse in there, especially on a weekend. The capacity isn't daunting either. Feel free to pay Mathew Street a site visit to check the place out..
Fingers firmly crossed..

Bank Holiday Weekend would be brilliant..
Friday - Pre-gig Party Night.. (Meal at Bistro Pierre on Button St).. (First 4GM connection!!). Followed by a visit to The Tube 80s Bar
Saturday daytime - Day in Beatles Quarter.. Cavern Walks shopping, drinking in various Mathew St watering holes..
Saturday evening - Cavern gig..
Sunday morning... (well Sunday afternoon..) .. resurface after the morning after the night before..
Yes, I like the sound of that!!
C'mon James.. get the band down to Mathew St, and I'll take your photo outside the old entrance to Eric's... (Spirit Of 76!!)

Talking of "Eric's" I just read this on a mailing from the Liverpool Everyman/Playhouse:
"Eric’s – The Musical By Mark Davies Markham October 2008 Liverpool Everyman
Another Liverpool icon comes under the spotlight in Eric’s, a new musical commissioned from Liverpool writer Mark Davies Markham (author of Taboo – The Boy George Musical). Eric’s will celebrate this musical hothouse of the late seventies and early eighties when The Clash, The Ramones and The Sex Pistols ignited a creative spark that fired a generation. Out of Eric’s came Teardrop Explodes, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Mighty Wah!, Big in Japan, OMD and Frankie Goes to Hollywood among many others. There could be only one venue to recreate this time, Liverpool’s other crucible of the counter-culture, the Everyman."
Cool eh! I never had the chance to go there bit before my time (again ) but have heard so much about it! Another Liverpool meet up for this one eh Shirl as we would hope 4GM will be down before October next year!

Good news Ash it will be a great night you get such a good atmosphere in there. Hope it happens though as many of my work colleagues and friends are up for it (and I work at a Liverpool University so you can imagine the size of my target audience !!) Think may need the Academy instead !! It would be much easier to nail numbers down though if we had a date - any news yet Del

Tabbers, I met Linda with Paul At Air Studios, and she was one of the nicest people I have ever met. Like yourself, a fantastic photographer. Linda gave me her new book at the time, called 'Photographs'...

Thanks for that info. I'll pass the info on to some friends who will be interested in this.. I only saw one gig at Eric's - XTC supported by Big In Japan. I think it was sometime in 1976 or 1977.. If someone could prompt me to when songs like Dreaming by Liverpool Express, Dancing In The Moonlight by Thin Lizzy and Do Anything You Wanna Do by Eddie And The Hotrods were out, it would pinpoint the year better

Yes. You guessed it. Just bought another laptop, 'cos my boys have wrecked this one.
I was also offline for a day or so, but the nice Indian man at Talk Talk fixed it for me.
I am now Vista man. What a result. I am meeting Moisture Man tomorrow for some band buisness.
As always. BMC
