Tabby sounded more like Sean Connery with all the... sh ....in the words, maybe it wasn't Amstel but SHeineken
I guess I have been on something myself because I could read what he was jabbing about without a problem .

Aye, a woz copying off that Martin Jol.
Ere JG, a prefer the grolsch me, a had on the DFDS seaways to Amsterdam and a were shit-faced all the way owa. Aye, a neely got hoyd owaboard by Helda the captains assistant. A remember gannin in the little cinema to watch that Bridget Jones rubbish, ya knar...her wee wears the belly warmers . Anyways, a sat doon in the front row of four rows and was seeing double. When tha film started a felt me'sel gannin off to sleep as the boat rocked to and fro. Cut a lang story short a tipped owa off me seat onto the floor and felt like a reet tit as everyone laughed their tits off at uz
Grolsch indeed

where wee wears the belly warmers...
thought it was just Bridget..
I've had that Grolsch myself.. two bottles of that and I was on a totally different planet.. Mind you, I remember the days when I was a regular at Eric Browns.. not the man himself but his pub in Dalry Road (Edinburgh).. and they used to do a drink called Pink Panther.. In a pint glass, you'd get a bottle of Special Brew, topped with cider and a splash of blackcurrant.. Bloody lethal.. and only 75p a go.. £3.00 and you were away with the fairies..(though in my case, it was more like £1.50..)
Don't rush to get there now, it's long gone.. and I am talking 1980 prices!!

Haha! Nice reading about the Dutch beers!
They are known for their effect on the Brits! They are not used to it, I heard.
Could be lots of fun if the guys of 4GM join us for a drink after the gig!
They better start practising!

Keep yer hair on BcGogs. And what might it be to do with you which songs we play, I wonder ? ? ?
Bruce is gone at his own behest, so why should we do any BC songs, apart from respect for a great Scottish band, and, may I add, personal friends. I first met Stuart in 1978 when my band the Subhumans played in Edinburgh at the Stiff / Chiswick challenge. My band signed to Stiff, but the Skids held out from Chiswick and went for a deal with Virgin. Stuart wanted me to play bass on one of the first BC tracks, when we were in the same studio doing albums, me with Simple Minds at the time. Bruce can confirm this to anyone that is interested. Richard Jobson, who stayed at my house in Glasgow , after mad nights out, tried to poach me for the Skids when Will Simpson left too, so you could say that I have always been part of the gang. I should leave this stuff for a book, but what the hell.! Point is, I can play what I want, where I want, and, When I want .
New songs on the way. Hope you are all having a nice Easter.

Hi Derek! So glad to see you in on this thread!
I will be the last complaining about what you will or won't play, for as long as you are playing!!
I can't wait to see you play live at Zaandam and hopefully talk to you at the meetup (hope I don't freeze!)
I'm really looking forward to hearing the new songs!
Lots of love from Edith
