Classic Grande is on the same street as Jury;s ( Jamaica Street. It's about 50 metres from Jury's heading towards Argyle Street, just after the Sub Club and Treasure Island.

From what it says on the 4GM Myspace page, the Hilton event is a Variety Club one. Andrea sent me a text earlier today with the news about the Classic Grand confirmation. Hopefully I'll get my ticket for that when I'm next in Glasgow at the end of October..

Just booked our flight and hotel for the December gig in Glasgow!!!
We will have to switch planes at Heathrow, but in that way we have half the costs. We will arrive on the 27th at Glasgow Airport at 11:25am. Booked the Jurys Doyle for the 27th and 28th, so plenty of time to spend with all of you the day after the gig! We will fly back home on the 29th. Kerstin, if you haven't booked a room at the Judys Doyle yet, maybe you can sleep in our room, as it has 3 beds. We can split the costs. Will be cheeper for all of us. I don't know if they want to know if there are 2 or 3 persons in that hotel room? |

Hi Edith - if you don`t mind this could be one option...... as for in Dec. I won`t get cheap flights from over here - so it will be 312.- Euro just for the flights...... *sigh* - and I have to add the ticket and the room - so it will be a worthy but expensive X-mas.
I planned to fly on 26th or 27th ( holidays over here for about two weeks ) - and haven`t decided yet the return - as for I can fly everyday with this ticket. Hugs, Kerstin |

We will see what Santa gots in his bag this year...
Me and Danish have plans for this event in Feb as well As previously announced here on MWIS The Mission are playing 4 very special one-off shows, never again to be repeated, at the Shepherds Bush Empire, London, next year, 2008. Each night will be dedicated to a specific 'classic' Mission album and the band will be playing that particular album in it's entirety along with relevant 'b' sides and live faves from that particular period. Wednesday 27th February is 'First Chapter' night. Thursday 28th February is 'God's Own Medicine' night. Friday 29th February will be 'Children' night. And the final night, Saturday 1st March will feature 'Carved In Sand'. Performing with the band on-stage each of the 4 nights will be a very special guest, to be announced later. We are also planning to record and film all four shows for later release on DVD and CD. Again, more details later. I think this could be the last Mission gigs ever 
But if Dereks "Ahem Ahem" will come true, we got to be there as well! I will speak to the FourGoodSwedes about it. //Patrik |

Work loads over Xmas and New Year so quite easy to get that day off(for example I'll work Xmas eve till aound 11pm(maybe 11.30,depends on how busy we are),closed Xmas day but will work probably 3 till 11pm boxing day. so I can say I'm happy to work all that as long as I get the 27th night off(and 28th morning off too )

Good to see there is a motley crew already planning on going to the post-Christmas gig. Those confirmed are Andrea, Jim, Edith, Bart, Dan, Marnie, Shirl, Keith, Will, Achmed, Tabs, Billy, no doubt Sandra, Loretta & co, Pamie & Diane, Kerstin, and hopefully the Swedes will be in attendance. Regina and Aggie (from Holland) amd Lore could well be there too.. What another great international event this is going to be again!! That means that the FourGoodSwedes will reunite in Glasgow this Xmas. Thanks for all help with all cards, e-mails, phonecalls and money so we got the Danish Swede with us as well! We still have one problem! We will stay in Glasgow 26-29 December but the Jurys Inn is closed 26 December. We booked Jurys Inn 27-29 so the afterspankparty tradition will continue... Can someone help us where we can stay the first night. Is there any hotels near Jurys Inn or? //Patrik |

Quick question: what are the night trains like in the UK.
I couldn't help myself and started looking up some flights from Brussels to Glasgow, but the times aren't ideal (especially not with the Jurys not being open on the 26th and the fact that I refuse to fly with Ryanair on 'the' day itself)... so I had the crazy idea of taking the Eurostar to London on the 26th, do a bit of shopping/sightseeing there and then take the night train to Glasgow. Has anyone around here got experience with travelling on night trains in the UK? Thanks in advance! Lore x |

Lore - how are the flights from Brussels to Manchester? I am sure we could offer you a lift up on 27 December (We will be leaving the North West of England that morning). If you fly in on 26 December, you are more than welcome to spend the night with my family, then Keith can take us up to Glasgow. If Keith isn't working on 26 December, we could pick you up from Manchester Airport. Thanks for the offer! I just had a quick look at flights to Manchester, but they're way too expensive so that's really not an option. I don't mind going via London and spending a couple of hours there; it's been more than a year (not counting the short trip on the underground past August LOL) and I absolutely love the city. But then I remembered that it will be Boxing Day, so the important question arises: are the shops open on Boxing Day ? I'm gonna get some info on the night train possibilities in the train station tomorrow.

Apparantly, they can only check up on night train time tables a couple of weeks in advance (and they can't book me a place on them from Belgium); and it could be that there aren't any night trains on Boxing Day.... the plot thickens !
If all else fails, there is still Ryanair, but then I'd probably spend 4 days in Glasgow... oh, the luxury! |
