old songsNot a problem Clarky, I'd be delighted to sign them for you. I played a gig in Brindisi in Italy with Mel Gaynor. We were called Forbes/Gaynor and friends. We had two girl singers with us,(one being Melissa Gaynor,Mel's daughter),and the other girl was Louise Berry, who starred in the film 'the Slab Boys'. She sang 'Pleasantly Disturbed', and it was wonderful. I'm sure we could persuade the lovely Jane to do it in the near future. By the way, what are the 'missing Minds songs', that you never hear them doing, and also it would be nice to have some more Big Country and H2O favourites seeing the light of day. Wait till you hear our new songs. I think you'llbe 'Pleasantly Surprised', no pun intended..(What Pun?) Ian? Merry Christmas, and see you at Oran Mor.

Missing Minds songsHi Derek,
I noticed that AFGM are gonna play in Breda! For the lost Minds-songs I'd definitely like to hear Sons and Fascination, 70 Cities, Changeling and Sweat in Bullet. Songs with great basslines... so
Greetings Hjalmar (The Netherlands)

My other favorites (besides early Simple Minds) include, They Might Be Giants, Erasure, The Police, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, and Depeche Mode (the earlier the better).
For current music, I've started to take a liking to Fountains of Wayne and Slightly Stoopid.

Well out of that lot it would have to be Gary Numan, followed by Simple Minds. I only really like the early Numan stuff, and lost interest in Simple Minds after New Gold Dream, but their best stuff is up there and always will be. Ey-up

Were you credited on the sleeve notes Derek?
I got a copy of it from Lord Bootleg, so I don't know whether you were.
There's this old fella who works with me and Lord Bootleg called Gary McKaizen, and he's forever whistling the piano line from 'Stay Visible'
Stop laughing Billy

Derek
I heard you mention this before, i know it was recorded quite a while before it was released did you record the demos or finished tracks?
One of the tracks has got to be 'Stay Visible', when i first heard it, the bass just stood out, thats got you all over it or Mr Duffy has learnt very well as i think you are his idol

Simple Minds for me - but i have enjoyed all the other bands mentioned - Propaganda and Big Country have certainly enjoyed a few spins on my record deck more than many other bands.
Cant wait to hear all the influences during a few FG men gigs coming up.
