Gareth,
I reckon New Gold Dream was the dogs bollocks, mebeez me saying the odd 'Good' album was not bein' accurate on my part eh. I hevvint liked very much by them since to be honest like, just the odd song here and there.
What can ya say about Billy Mac eh, the lad from Auchterhouse with the acrobatic vocals, a rare breed. Not too sure whether FGM will incorporate an Associates track into their live set but a great idea Will me owld son. I reckon it would gan down a treat with the FGM faithful, nee danger.
Hey Derek, any lasting memories of Billy and Alan ????

Aye, there's a good book kickin' about called 'The Glamour Chase - The Maverick Life Of Billy Mackenzie' and it's very good. A bit sad towards the end though, for obvious reasons. I've got a great dvd full of Associates stuff that I put together recently. There's the Glamour Chase documentary on it which interviews with Alan Rankine, Glen Gregory, Boris Blank etc etc where they too give accounts of some rather dodgy gannins' on........quite funny but mebeez not as funny as what Deggsy has in store in his forthcoming scribbles....he he.
Look forward to it.............

And Derek, I dunno if your serious about an Associates cover, but can you pm me with your e-mail addy, could help alot

Aye yer could be reet Will, on the documentary about Billy, Tom Doyle talks that fast a couldnae understand a bastit word !!! Ad've had mare joy understandin' a stuttering chinkey
Ere Sir Bombadil, keep tekkin' the tablets kidda
And what's all this hoo-har aboot Tams Ass then. Who is Tam anyways, a dint think have had an introduction yet......sounds as if he's a gadgey in the know.
Anyway, who is THE BOSS ????
Well, he's fower foot nowt with bandy legs. Plays by the book and has his sandwiches individually wrapped in cling film with an even spread of sesame seeds on the bun upper. Wears one of them 1980's denim jackets with grey corduroy collar and a black pair of wrangler jeans - size 24 waist Cuts the lawn with a spirit level and pair of scissors, parks his car with all four dust caps in the 12 o' clock position and has been known to headhunt a ten year old for littering his drive with a twix wrapper back in 1989. A nice bloke really, loves Bruce Springsteen music and slamming car doors.
I'll have a shower, then phone my brother up.......

Aye, Springsteen THE BOSS..........Like shyte is he.
There was an advert on the telly tutha day about the release of his new album and showed a clip o' Brucey singin' 'We shall overcome' be fooked !!!!! A mean....what in foox names' gannin' on there then. The bloke's lost tha plot, singin' hymns. Has he joined that bunch o' happy clappers or summat, the mind boggles.
Will young eh, now there's change in direction. I once worked with will doing a bit seasonal work for me Xmas beer money. Aye, down south for Cadbury's. Canny lad he was, a bit fem but a decent grafter.
Anyways, there were six of us on our section filling selection boxes on a little production line. I put the Mars bars in the plastic tray, Harry Jones done the crunchies, Owld Bob hoyd the curly wurlies in and Will Young was the fudge packer
Ahem, moving swiftly on.................................
Erm, av just got back from Sooth Sheelz where a took a few piccies of the Amphitheatre venue and suroundin' area, a twisted me ankle gerrin' back in the car so am tekkin' it easy til a gan ti work the saffa. But getting back on topic folks, this Will Young mention.....be honest, we've all liked the odd naff band/singer in our past havvint wa. Probleez still do now but are afraid ti' admit it. Weez got the balls ti' say so eh.
I mean, owld Tabnab used ti like the odd listen to Abba when a woz younger. Hey, they had some good tunes out in their heyday. Lookin' back though, a cannit decide whether it was the music that caught me attention or Anna's curvy charms. Aye, she was a pretty one eh.
That lang flowin' hair anarl.....not ti' menshun those tight catsuits o' hers. My deary me, a do believe am gettin' a twinge as we speak But hey, al nivver forget the day a found out she were gerrin' porked off that bloke in the band.....ya knar......the guitarist.......the one who looks like a hamster ! She would hev dropped him like shitoffastick if she'd met me. Me n' her, nice restaurant, bottle o' vintage beaujolais and some cultural crack from Tabnab....he he........it wouldn't hev been lang afore a' dropped and gave her fifty ....he he.

Nothing wrong with ABBA Tabnab. I was asked to write songs for the girls when the band split up. It was there assistant manager Thomas Johansen who asked me. Propaganda were affectionately known as ABBA from Hell, because the songs were a bit darker lyrically. Anyway, fuck that, I'm off for some Earl Grey....

Its ok with just a cd book Derek, and lets say 15-17 cd´s with good old stories
I can imagine you sitting in the sofa with a microphone infront of you telling us these fantastic stories. And of course there is an Old Grey infront of you as well during this time.
I agree with Magnus, it will be a killer for X-mas
Looking forward
