Monaco Grand Prix?  Lucky b@st@rd ... oh to live the life of the rich and shameless! Wink

I did meet Graeme once, playing with his two brothers Stuart and Malcolm (R.I.P) if I remember correctly in some church hall in Glasgow's south side.  I'm sure that Graeme was sporting a goatee beard and bearing a remarkable similarity to a young Dave Stewart!  If I can find the photographic evidence, are we talking about sealed envelopes deposited at midnight in a park's dustbin, or shall I just post the photos here? Wink

I was privileged to get to know Graeme's late brother, Malcolm fairly well in the early '80's when he was playing drums with Scotsrock.  He was an immensely talented drummer with a sublime sense of humour.  I also met Graeme's other brother, Stuart at around the same time too, in Aberdeen, when he was fretless bass player with "Talking Drums" - how I've searched and searched and searched for a copy of their album, "Fighting To The Finish", but, sadly, to no avail.  It seems that Sticky Records is long-since demised.

I even got to meet 'lil sis, Fiona, several times, as I used to be quite friendly with Altered Images at the time, and Fiona always seemed to be at the Rock Garden or Henry Africa's when we'd visit.

Anyway, it was good to see Graeme's career reflected the immense musical tallent shown by all the Duffin boys!

Best regards,

Murray de Schot, AMSTERDAM.

Hi Murray,

Stuart has a Christian band called "Sons Of Thunder",  if you want to check them out here is the link:

Graeme's son and daughter are also very gifted musicians , its in the Duffin genes  Cool .

Thanks for your kind words about his website, I love to work on it and do my best to keep it up to date  Very Happy  .

Sorry, Willemina, just noticed your reply.  I didn't think you were poking your nose, or anything else, for that matter in, actually. Smile

Anyway, you're obviously passionate about promoting the VERY best in Scottish musical talent - GREAT!  Just hope your passion doesn't extend to promoting the VERY "best" in Dutch 'cuisine' or the rider at the next 4GM show in Holland will consist of raw herring, Febo burgers and salted liquorice! Wink

If I come across the bearded Graeme Duffin photo, I'll scan it and mail it to you. Smile

Laughing  I do like the things you mentioned, yes I am a typical Dutch girl. Although I prefer the Febo Croquetten rather then the burgers  Wink   Laughing .

Fourgoodmen have been in Holland and I gave them some "Stroopwafels"....I  hope they did like those.

Have a lovely weekend.

Thanks, Willemina.  You enjoy your weekend too.  As a quick question where abouts did I miss them when they played Holland?

They came to Zaandam last year  22-04-07 .  We had a lovely chat with them all, took pics with them and they were so kind to sign things.

The gig they did was SUPERB although. sorry to say,  there weren't a lot of people there it was almost a private gig  Cool .
In fact Ian was very funny when he introduced the band and then started to point at the crowd naming most of us too  Laughing  .

It was a great night but I did feel sorry for them that there wasn't a big crowd waiting for them  Embarassed  .

Willemina, I've seen plenty of bands where the road-crew outnumbered the audience ... Kissing Bandits (featuring Brendan Moon - brother of Scottish master-luthier, Jimmy), Talking Drums (post-Duffin participation) , The Black Heart and even, believe-it-or-not,  U2 in Edinburgh eons back!

One thing stuck out at each gig.  They ALL played their socks off - audience or NO audience.
