Grey Clouds And Silver LiningsI'm up in the NE of England for a gig on 6 October. Original plans were to see The Alarm on that day at Newcastle Academy, but it looks like that is now going to be rescheduled as Steve Grantley is due to appear in Middlesborough with Stiff Little Fingers. A friend of mine has been in contact with the MPO and The Alarm are looking to reschedule. Thankfully my trip north is still on - Capercaillie are playing at the Sage, Gateshead which is just down the road from where I'm staying. Plans are now afoot to get tickets for that gig. More good news about this, is that Nikki (who is seen dancing at her first ever 4GM gig on the South Shields DVD) already has tickets for that one. I haven't met up with her since that gig, so it will be great to catch up with her again. I'll keep you posted, and might just put together a review.. (just for a change, )
Talk about every cloud having a silver lining..

Got tickets booked for Capercaillie as the Alarm gig is definitely not happening on 6 October. Looking forward to meeting up with Nikki again. Ash & Billy, if you are in the area.. you are welcome to join us for a bevvy. Hopefully Keith and I will be arriving in Gateshead for about dinner time. I'll also get in touch with my mate Sheila and her hubby Colin, to see if they have some spare time to join us. The more the merrier - even if we don't all get to the gig

A no-go for me Shirley az afraid. To be honest, I'm surprised The Alarm left it as late as they did to re-schedule the Newcastle date. We've ben talking about these confirmed Saturday shows for a few months now.. Surely the drummer knew he was booked to play in two different bands on the same night Queer one that eh.
Never mind, I'm looking forward to the Big Country gig at the end of the month. Probably won't bother with the re-scheduled Alarm date.
I must say 'Hello' to Mr Watson at Newcastle Legends. That drummer Mark Brzewickiwickiwickitittywicki played on Ultravox's ill fated U-VOX tour back in 1986, a great drummer he is too. I must dig out me checky shirt and neck tie for the gig, and me white jeans o' course
BOX ME UP AND SHIP ME HOME...
