Jammin Java was HOT! (Washington DC)

The show at Jammin Java was hot, in more ways than one. First the 4GM sounded and looked fantastic. And Carrie looked smashing. Second, the heat was on too high and it was sweltering inside the club. I felt sorry for the band cause I'm sure they were especially hot.

Many thanks to Ian, Derek, Mick, Bruce and Smiley for being so very very nice and gracious with our pre-show backstage visit. (I was the lucky contest winner for this venue.) Many thanks also to Kelley for arranging the whole thing.

Set list: Same as the one Tabnab already posted for another show, with one exception: Theme for Great Cities instead of Belfast Child during the encore. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Fashion report: Bruce in Scottish flag suit. Derek showed off his legs again. Ian in black suit and tie. Mick all in black. Smiley sported a Stones t-shirt.

Merchandise: The new CD sounds great. Heart of Wonder fast becoming a favorite. The t-shirts are really nice. I got the ladies tank with the embroidered logo. It's lovely.

Getting to meet the guys and spend a little time with them was brilliant. I may never recover from the experience - in a good way.

The little kid that used to dance around her room to TFGC could have never fathomed that one day she'd sit on a couch next to Derek and have a look at his tattoo. Chatting with Mick and Bruce was unbelievably cool. And eating orange slices with the very sweet Ian Donaldson just topped it all off.

I could go on and on but in the interest of brevity, I will stop here.

Nice one Alyce, your comments were nice to read and I'm glad you had a great time. I hope 'Theme' gets a run out at the Glasgow bash in December.......a surprising inclusion in the set.

Before I go, did you manage to get any photographs of the occasion. They would sit very nicely in the tour diary slideshow.
Cheers,

Tabnab,

Thanks. I do have some photos, which I gladly send to you. What is the best way to do that?

I was thrilled that they did 'Theme', even though Bruce did not participate. When I arrived at the club, Derek, Mick and Smiley were playing it during the sound check. I was so excited to hear it that I asked if they planned to do it during the show. They said they hadn't planned to.

Post-show, Derek and Mick did not seem thrilled with how it turned out. But for me, it was fabulous, especially with Ian dedicating it to me (swoon). Perhaps my enthusiasm for the song contributed to their decision to give it a try?

Yeah, ask and you shall receive Alyce. Good stuff.
As for the photo's, that's very kind of you. They'll be gladly received and I'll get some up on the website.

You can email them to me in any resolution, prefferably 500x375 pixels or above. They can easily be resized if they're large files and my inbox is empty so send as many as you can. I look forward to receiving them and you'll receive a credit on the site.
Thanks, Tabnab Wink

Just watched this show on dvd and it was brilliant!
Gonna watch the support gig at the Starland Ballroom tomorrow night.
Had a quick look at it and judging by the packed house it also looks like it's gonna be a great show to watch.

On the weekend I watched the 4GM 'Big In Falkirk' show and that was great too. Couldn't help but laugh at the two Chavs constantly necking on a couple of rows in. I'm sure she was trying to retrieve something from her boyfriends thoat.....he he.

Long live 4gm! Cool

Wow...!
Any chance to get at copy of that show?
The dvd from Glasgow did never see the market, sad but true!
I would love to see that show, incl Theme For Great Cities!

Me too kidda. It must be locked in the vault, never to see the light of day.
As for the Jammin'Java dvd Patrik, I never recorded it so I wouldn't want to copy and pass on without permission. It was given as part of a 7 dvd set from a kind fellow in the U.S. I could send you a dvd of the South Shields gig, a one which I did record, but I'm sure I've sent you that already.

Cheers, Tabnab Wink
