Line up for SONS OF DAN / FOURGOODMEN 4TH DECEMBERThis is an official Announcement..Date : 4th of December. 2008 Venue : Classic Grand, Jamaica Street, Glasgow Matinee show doors open around 5pm. Show opens with SONS OF DAN who are as follows: Mick MacNeil Keyboards. Brian McGee Drums. Derek Forbes Bass. Owen Paul Lead Vocals. Frank O'Hare Guitar. (We will be playing favourites from our past from the early albums, chosen by Mick, Derek and Brian ) followed by FOURGOODMEN who are as follows : Derek Forbes Bass. Mick MacNeil Keyboards. Graeme Duffin Guitar. Ian Donaldson Vocals. Smiley Drums. Jane Button Vocals. Carrie MacNeil Bagpipes and Vocals. Yvonne McHugh Bagpipes and Vocals Show ends around 7pm to allow everyone plenty of time to get to the Simple Minds show at the SSEC ( about a 15 minute walk ). Evening Show doors open around 10pm. Show opens with an acoustic set with KIRK BRANDON (Spear of Destiny) Next SONS OF DAN Followed by FOURGOODMEN Before retiring to the aftershow party downstairs at the same venue, if time permits, we may have a celebrity jam with Owen Paul and Kirk Brandon and the rest of us fighting for the microphone... Dancing and chatting and swallying till 3am...  Derek Forbes

Ticket price will be a one off £15.00 for the lot. i.e. if you just go to one of the shows it's £15.00, and if you attend both shows it won't cost you a penny more. Just keep a hold of your ticket. How fair are we. This will be the best aftershow party yet. A chance to see all 5 original members of Simple Minds but not at the same time, which is a pity, but outwith our control. I'm sure the SM show will be great, as will ours...

£15!!! Many people will be travelling many miles and will appreciate this, thanks Derek, a very good gesture and topped off with seeing the 5 original members of Simple Minds live on one night, even if not at the same time, will make this a brilliant evening.

Hi Dave There are a couple of Wetherspoons pubs not far from the Classic Grand - The Crystal Palace and Sir John Moore. There are plenty of places for food not too far away from that area. There may be others who may not be doing the Simple Minds gig, so hopefully there'll be some kind of meet up arranged if you fancy that. If you and Steph want to go for something to eat, you're not too far from various restaurants, including the China Sea where we ate when Great Minds played at Pivo Pivo with the Tracks. Tell me about it Lozza, don't want to regret not seeing Sons of Dan and finally see 4GM. So finally pulling my finger out.
Cheers for the info Shirls, I'll be popping up on my own for this. We think 1 gig for Simple Minds is enough these days and me and Steph are going to the MEN with Anne-Marie. I may still try and get a ticket for the SECC, but I can see it being the same set list which I can probably predict 98% of. Kinda have taken a back seat with Simple Minds recently, really need something to spark that interest again which I thought could happen with the original 5 recording again. Bit disillusioned with Jimbo at the moment with that idea getting shelved. cheers Dave xx |

As Kelley just posted on the SSM.com forum that Mick won't be able to take part in the FGM gigs on the 4th December , i was wondering what this means for the Sons of Dan gigs that day? Are they still going ahead as scheduled?
