NZ/Oz Army ssm.com meetup in Brisbane, AustraliaJust in case any Aussie members on here have missed this, Trev & Sera are hosting a Simple Minds meet up barbecue at their home in Brisbane on Saturday the 15th of September - this weekend. I'll make sure the 4GM CD gets played.

Well back home in Perth after a great meet up with all the Oz/Nz gang from SSM.com. It was so nice to catch up with all the people that Victoria and I had met during the SM/Inxs tour around Australia earlier this year. It didn't take long for a us to just slot back into each other's company with lots of eating, drinking and banter going on all day and night!
I had met up with Victoria on Thursday evening at our hotel and caught up on all the news, gossip and stories from Rotherham. On Friday we went to Movieworld theme park and had a blast. She even managed to get me onto a rollercoaster thingy which is a world first!
We then had our meetup BBQ at Trevor and Sera's lovely home on Saturday. After everyone had arrived I was presented with my "surprise" and boy was it a huge surprise. Victoria had very carefully escorted my aussie flag all the way back over from Rotherham to NZ and then to Brisbane complete with signatures from all the 4GM, Brian McGee and Steve/Simon from Sample Minds. HOW FANTASTIC IS THAT !!!!!! (Pics will follow) Thank you so much to all the guys who were willing to sign it and to all the co-conspirators who managed to organise this for me as well as the phone calls. You are simply amazing and it is something I will treasure. It is even more precious to me knowing that people went to so much trouble to plan and do this for me as I couldnt attend the gig. You couldnt wipe the smile off my face all day Thank you also to all the gang who signed the card that accompanied the flag - hope to see you all in person sometime next year.
I will post some pics a bit later when I get them sorted.

Glad you all had a good time. Next 4GM party is Glasgow 27th December ...Dakota is working on coming aren't ya chuck hope you can join us too!!

I think i need to build a new "memorabilia" room on the house to proudly display my flag and posters etc. Not sure the rest of the clan will appreciate it tho LOL

Good to see that the Aussie flag reached you safely and that you liked the messages sent on to you from the folk who attended Rotherham. Your face on the photos I've seen from the meet up at Trev and Sera's was positively beaming!! I trust we'll meet up at some point on your travels next year - I know we will!!
