On January 20th 2007, to honour the memory of Billy Mackenzie and to
mark the 10th anniversary of his death, Scenester Promotions present
Double Hipness at The Classic Grand.

Double Hipness will focus on the beautiful pop music of The
Associates. The evening will consist of both live bands paying
tribute to the songs of The Associates in their own way and a
clubnight.

The (country) club will be manned by XFM Scotland's Jim Gellatly (a
dundonian and massive Associates fan) with special guests
Live acts are still to be announced.

Tickets £10 in advance.

Great band right enough Will. I have a lot of great memories of Billy and Alan. I used to bump into Billy avec les whippets at Nottinghill on quite a few occasions. Last time I saw Billy was at a T.V. show we were doing in London. I was with Propaganda at the time

I am in Motherwell on 6 October, so might pop into Glasgow that weekend while I am up there. Hopefully get the tickets for the Arches gig at the same time.. Smile

An old pal of mine, who I now share an office with used to play drums with them & is featured on the first 4 tracks on the 'Double Hipness' long player...Looking forward to January'07 Wink

Quick question,is anyone able to copy Youtube vids to dvd???, I know you can download them to your computer but mines cannot burn dvds.I know that you can also use other formats but I don't know what the venue can show so a dvd would be safer.

This is the vid I wanna show on the night,tried in vain to track anymore of the set down but would love to be able to screen this on the night!!

Have just downloaded this its a 15 day evaluation period software.
I just converted a FLV file(which i downloaded from Youtube) to DIVX/AVI which a lot of DVD players will play
these days.

They also have a wild side to them,and strange ways of making music(like strapping cups to their heads,smashing them off the wall and recording the noise!! Surprised
