phew... took me a while......to remember my password again!!
So how is everyone? What did I miss?
And why is Derek's blog dead?
I have a wee slide show for all you music fans out there
I went to the 'Hamburger Fishmarket" yesterday morning and took my son (7) with me. Looks like a star was born. He loved it! The show went 5 hours and included 2 bands, playing ... well they call it Rock'n'Roll
Pretty cool covers of just everything. Nico was invited on stage to perform a ZZ Top song with them, as you can also see on the pics.
Hope you enjoy them, here we go:

A friend of mine has posted his son singing along to Rescue Me by The Alarm on the Distant Warning forum. They could make a great team

Yes, just as much indeed. You've taken some great shots there mind. You have an eye for it, no mistaking that. The candid shots of the crowd are great, very natural. Other eye-catchers were the doorway with the ladies chatting, also the windows with industry behind.
What type of kit were you using? Surely it was a DSLR...
Nice work, Ash

Ah, portraiture, something I've never really tried. But hey, after seeing your portfolio I feel like giving it a bash. There's some excellent shots in there, infact just about all of them. I'm now scratching my head wondering about what exposure you used on some of them, especially the 'bubbles' shots. Also, did you use flash on many of these or not?
I might even bookmark your pages and pop in again incase you upload some new shots.
My camera is a Nikon D80. I've only used it a few times and I'm looking forward to Knockhill where it will be getting some stick. I also have a battery grip attached so it can be quite bulky to use, but the results are well worth it, and you don't wanna run out o' juice eh.
Anyway, thanks for sharing those photo's Queenie, great stuff!

d80... that must be one generation after mine? i bought mine in 2004 when it was quite new... and was much more expensive than it is nowadays
anyway, i cant remember exposure times, but i can tell you i never use flash, never. i love to take my pics with available light, so they look real real
if it's too dark i rather NOT take the pic instead of using flash LOL but i own an external flash and use it sometimes ... but it's just not the same... you know, if 1/60 sec and 1600 iso isn't enough... well then it's a dark room and no pic has to be taken of that
*blubb blubb*
take care

p.s.: the extreme shadow/light effects on the bubbles-pics were taken on a summer's afternoon under a tree, so that is doing the contrast here, i'd say. also, i used a 50mm / 1.8f lens so that's a LOT of light getting through...
