Remember the eighties - great bulletin!

Hi folks

I thought I would do a bit of promotion for Richard at www.remembertheeighties.com as a thank you for picking me as one of the winners for tickets for last week's fabulous 80's Retro festival.

I won the tickets by entering a competition on the www.remembertheeighties.com web site after signing up for their weekly mailing.

I thought I would copy this weeks newsletter below as it mentions the boys a couple of times (promoting album sales too!) as well as lots of other great bands. Also this month you have the chance to win a signed T-shirt from the festival! If you are on Myspace then please add their page http://www.myspace.com/thisisnotretro.

Enjoy (sorry it's a bit long but I didn't want to edit it!) Razz Very Happy

Newsletter 7 September 2007

HELLO...

I am very happy to say that after weeks and weeks of going on about RETROFEST it was an absolutely brilliant weekend and I had a blast! The music was great, the people were brilliant - hello to everyone I met by the way - and the weather was (almost) perfect!

But it wasn't entirely a selfish, hedonistic weekend for me because I GOT YOU A PRESENT! I took a RememberTheEighties.com T-SHIRT along to the festival with me along with a couple of marker pens and asked as many of the bands and guests as possible - through charm, persuasion, bullying and stalking - to AUTOGRAPH it for me so I could give it away as a COMPETITION PRIZE on the website!

So if you fancy entering an EXCLUSIVE COMPETITION to win a very special one-off t-shirt signed by members of ABC, BANANARAMA, THE BEAT, CULTURE CLUB, CUTTING CREW, FOURGOODMEN, GO WEST, IMAGINATION, HOWARD JONES, KAJAGOOGOO, KID CREOLE & THE COCONUTS, SIMPLE MINDS and WET WET WET as well as TONY HADLEY, NICK HEYWARD, HAZEL O'CONNOR and KIM WILDE then you should get over to the website as soon as possible for all the details!

I am in the process of doing a kind of REVIEW of the whole weekend but I could use your help if you were there! Please email me with your favourite memories of the weekend; the best bits, the worst bits, the people you met, everything and I will put all our memories together in one place to tease all the people who couldn't be there! The very good news indeed is that there WILL be a RETROFEST 2008 so just watch this space for news of that...

And if that's all not enough there is also a brand new EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with THE PROCLAIMERS online for you this week, the band talk about all sorts of things from their love of DEXYS MIDNIGHT RUNNERS and opening LIVE 8 in Scotland to hitting the top of the UK charts this year, SHREK and their beloved football team, HIBERNIAN... it's online for you now if you fancy having a read.

In the meantime here's the news that was added to the website since the last newsletter...
