Yes 4GM are defiantly playing on the Friday, as far as I’m aware the gates open at 5pm, not sure who is on when but 4GM should be on about 10pm playing a full set, there will be a press release soon but as soon as I have any more information it will be on the web site. | ||||

Aye, Mr Tabnab is going to see China Crisis this coming Saturday. A free outdoor gig, so it is. Venue : The Amphitheatre, South Shields. I'll be popping along with me other half (me camera ). Might even get those scousers to sign some photo's I took of them on stage at Shields in 2006.

The SM pre-sale tickets for Newcastle went on sale this morning. I haven't bought one yet as I was waiting to see if Derek and Mick were involved. No disrespect to Eddy Duffy and Andy Gillespie, but without Derek and Mick there's no Simple Minds in my opinion. Common sense says it would be best if they WERE involved in touring an album they co-wrote, but these decisions are down to a body of people and not Derek and Mick alone. I have a feeling they will participate at some point, if not all of the NGD tour. Fingers crossed eh. Now...China Crisis. Looking forward to seeing them play again. I saw them play live in South Shields back in 2006, a month after 4GM played the Amphitheatre. They were great! Bought tickets for a planned show at South Shields Customs House last year but the show was pulled and I got a refund. Wasn't too pleased mind. Was looking forward to seeing them on the strength of the set they played at Bents Park. Ah well Yes, I'm hoping the weather will be nice and I'll tell the China's you were asking after them.
Loretta, Yes, the Amphitheatre in June '06 was the first time I saw 4GM too. A great show. Must dig out me dvd and watch it all again sometime. Hope yer keepin' well eh pet.

I think you can Will.. the way it's worded on the Retrofest website, though I could be wrong. I would phone them if you can to check, or possibly drop them an email. Fourgoodmen are playing the pre-festival party according to the link.. that's the Friday night event..
According to the pre-festival party online booking form it says that tickets will be posted 14 days before the event. I would have been tempted to come up for the Friday with the family but I'm in Glasgow the week before and will also be doing a number of Spear dates in September.. |

Graeme made the Daily record today. I heard from him last monday because he had broken his ankle on Sunday but he's still doing the Retro gig....now why I am not surprised .
He did a wee interview about it all and the retrofest so I put the article on his Web-site's blog. Sorry I'm all Retro'd out
Me, Loretta and Lynne had a fab time at Retro
4GM were on Tomorrow's World Stage they were a bit far back but they were still GREAT!!. There were a few bands on before that overran their slot so by the time 4GM got on they had to shorten their set list. I was in the Retro spirit well lots of spirits and a few Sex on the Beach thrown in so I didn't ask for a set list
I didn't get any pics too many flashing lights and then they were out of focus in zoom or was that my eyesight
