RotherhamI've been really encouraged by the massive response to this on SSM, and the gig has been advertised on the Dream Giver and Sample Minds sites too.. It's been a year since we had the band playing south of the border, and this looks like one hell of a return!! Amazing.. and great to see that so many people will be travelling far and wide to get to this. Bless her heart, we have Victoria coming over from New Zealand especially for this!! I've got my place and ticket booked so I'm a happy bunny..

Hi All Tickets for the ‘Celebrate’ gig will go on sale at 9:30am (GMT) on Monday morning, June 25th 2007. Tickets can be obtained from the ticket office at Rotherham United where Credit / Debit card facilities are available. The number is + 44 (0) 870 443 1884. Tickets for the gig are priced a £20. Anyone wishing to attend the Pre-Gig Meet up / mini-convention will need to buy a Hospitality / Meet & Greet Pass. This event will start at 2:30pm. This will be a Private Event and will be held in the Hospitality Suite in the Main Stand. Mick & Derek will be taking part and will do a ‘Meet & Greet’, a signing session, they will be bringing some of their personal SM memorabilia (Mick apparently will be bringing some of his video footage of life on the road), and I believe a few special guests may well be on the cards!!!!!!!!!!!. There will be a range of other activities taking place and a number of surprises! And of course, the usual fan meet up will require a bar, which of course I will make sure is fully loaded! (and yes Darren, we sell Fosters). I will be putting on food (as it’s a long day) which will be included in the price of the ticket. Please ask for a Hospitality / Meet and Greet ticket whilst purchasing your concert ticket should you wish to attend. Access can only be gained to the Hospitality Suite with a ticket. These are priced at £10 (which essentially is covering food costs). I have negotiated a ‘Special Rate’ at the local Holiday Inn, which is a five minute drive away (there is a taxi company / rank directly opposite Rotherham United). The rate is £65 per room (whether single or double occupancy) and includes breakfast. The usual rate is £89. If you want to reserve a room, call +44 (0) 1709 830630. Hi folks..
JG is back in Merseyside after a week at Beecraigs Country Park, just outside Linlithgow. The weather nearly got the better of me at the start of the week, but thankfully it improved enough for us to get to the beach at North Berwick by midweek. I'll be at Rotherham don't you worry. Keith will be there too for the meet and greet, though he may not be able to stay for the whole of the gig as he has work the following day and will not be staying overnight. Looking forward to the weekend and catching up with everyone. I was talking to Dan M midweek and ticket sales are going well. |

The countdown to Rotherham is well and truly on the way. Victoria leaves NZ today - hopefully she'll have time to get over the jetlag before the weekend kicks in. Shannon is on her way over from Texas in the next few days and should be in Rotherham from the Saturday, along with quite a few others from the Sosimpleminded forum who are making a two day break of it. I'll be arriving in Rotherham at about noon.. Hopefully I'll not have too much of a headache after (hopefully) watching the rugby league final on the box.. Come On You Saints!!

I was at Newmarket last weekend and the weather was great. Graeme Duffin always says when WetWetWet do an outdoor gig it never rains and luckily he was right again .
We had such a great time at these Horse races, the fans cleaned up pretty well in our posh cloths, it was fun. have a great time everyone, love Willemina. |

Thankfully the weather seems to be set fair for the weekend, though I did advise Victoria to pack spring like clothing rather than summer beach wear, lol. The gig is at a function room at the football ground, so it won't be outdoor, unless Dan M has a surprise for us when we get to Rotherham

I've not even looked at the China's schedule!! I need to check that one out, hope I can make it.. (No doubt it will be up for discussion over the weekend!!) I'm in Liverpool next week to see Spear, so hopefully will take a walk to the Cavern to pick up a ticket then, providing the date's free in my ever busy calendar..
Back on track.. The weekend is almost here. I'm meeting up with Shannon in Manchester for a few hours tomorrow. Had thought about an extra day in Rotherham, but really know that the pennies aren't there to make a two day stop over. Also, not sure if they'll have Setanta Sports and you know we have to get our fix of the Toffees, Andrea.. (There's nobody better than Mikel Arteta.. )
Looking forward to meeting up with everyone on Sunday.. It can't come soon enough

Hi Shirl China Crisis are playing the "in-famous" (not "un-famous" - durrh - tell I have a hang-over practicing for Sunday last night!) on Friday 9th November. You (and anyone else that fancies another great gig) are welcome to join me and my mate (and Shirl?) at the venue that started it all!! As I say a great place for a 4GM gig too??? Yes Shirl defo need my Mikel fix - not going (Jim not too impressed!) but Setanta sport will do the business! Going to be a sad game to as I am sure there will be a minutes silence for poor little Rhys Jones absolutely heart breaking in it  what is the world coming to?

Toying with the idea of going to Rotherham tomorrow to make a bit of a break of it. As I'm meeting Shannon at Manchester tomorrow, it would be a case of doubling back on myself to come back to Merseyside then go through Manchester to Rotherham the following day. Count me in for the China's gig at the Cavern - Hopefully I'll get my ticket next Friday..

what a day/night, i thought sample minds were good(brave to tackle street fighting years and pull it off ) but 4gm were great, good to hear glittering prize, how about some reworked h2o?. nice to get to finally see malky play

I sympathise Will..... I worked in "hospitality" for 10 years - although by the end I wasn't very hospitable! It sucks having to work those hours when everyone else is off having fun! On the plus side though...one of the few jobs where it's (usually) acceptable to drink while working (apart from being a Rock Star of course!), you don't get sacked for coming in with a hangover, and you get to sleep in late!
