Simple Minds at NOTP in Holland 2008!(my free translation of what was printed in the papers today!)Simple Minds celebrates 30st anniversary on Night of the Proms 2008 PSE-Belgium and PSE-Holland, producers of the yearly Night of the Proms in Belgium and the Netherlands, proudly announce Simple Minds to the 24st (Belgium) and 19th (Netherlands) edition of their councert tour this fall. The shows in the Netherlands take place from 19th up to and including 22nd of November at Ahoy Rotterdam. On 14th of November the Gelredome Arnhem has their first show. Carts for the Night of the Proms can be bought at Tele Ticket Service and from next Saturday also at Ticket Service Nederland. Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill, founders of Simple Minds, were the favorites of the audience at NOTP before, in 1997 and 2002. A recent survey among visitors of NOTP show that Simple Minds are still very popular. Jim en Charlie stayed in touch with the team of NOTP since their first performance i in 1997. As soon as they told them that they would like to celebrate their 30-year anniversary with a third set of performances at the Proms, the producers didn’t hesitate for one moment to book them again. Of course with a difference choice of their repertoire, although classics like “Belfast Child” or “Alive and Kicking” cannot be missed.
