Yes.. got the news via the Babylontalks.com forum, although I had a look on the Academy 3 page details and there wasn't anything there. Babylontalks is quite accurate though, and pretty reliable for first hand news, so I take it that the gig will be happening then. I'll see you there unless I catch up with you before then!!

Only been to about 3 gigs in the last year must try to get to more,would have liked to see Spear again but can really only get to gigs that are on a Saturday(Oxford and Bristol ones are in the week).The time i saw Kirk in Oxford a few years ago there was Mike Peters and Pete Wylie on the same bill but Kirk was the best on that night.

Thought i was going to a DMW gig but on that night for some reason they did solo sets,kirk as i said was just brilliant

They did do a tour as DMW then followed it up with the three of them touring together doing their own sets,Mike and Pete fell out big style during the tour(I witnessed one verbal fight)
Pete left the DMW project after that and as fae as I know has yet to make peace with Mike,he still get on with Kirky Kirk though

I'm hoping to get to the Spear dates at Crewe on 20 September and Liverpool on 23 September. Manchester.. it depends when Mark goes to Skye, and how he travels. If he gets the overnight coach from Manchester that could rule me out of the Spear gig that night.. I could be going to others - those mentioned here are the ones I've prioritised..

Should be a good one in Liverpool. Maureen and I should be in Ma Egertons pre-gig, probably with our pal Storey and his buds. There weren't that many at Liverpool last time around, but it made it an intimate gig. Keep me posted nearer the time, hope you can join us.. .

Great gig at Leicester on Wednesday.. Kirk was on fine form, as were Craig, Robin and Adrian. Lovely to see John Boy and Steve joining them for the tour, though sorry to say JB has commitments following the Manchester gig and will not be making the trip north of the border.

Another top night on the Spear tour at Sheffield last night. Good to catch up with some good pals there.. Duds (aka Spud!!) was a legend as always!! Great to chat to John Boy after the gig again - pity the saxman has to leave the tour before it hits Scotland (due to other prearranged commitments). Here's to Crewe tomorrow!!

Can't do much of a review for the Crewe gig, as I can't remember half the night!! What is it about that place and alcohol?? Managed to eat half of my (very) full breakfast the following morning. One thing I love about the Royal is that you get plenty of food!! Had a short walk to the Crewe Arms after checking out of my room to catch up with other Soldiers for an hour then got back to the Royal to meet up with other friends there. Great to chat with Spear and crew (without the secone e!) and have a drink with them before they packed up and set off. Liverpool tomorrow, then we start Loretta's birthday celebrations at Manchester.. (no alcohol for me though, with that overnight coach journey ahead!!)

Great gig, especially towards the end. I could see James tapping his foot,(the good one (right) ), to 'WAS THAT YOU?'. A bit of a Psychobilly our James methinks.
Good to see the girls there..FFL,Jean Genie and Loretta..
James said it was a titfest...but I didn't

Great to see everyone there.. Derek, James, Sandra and Loretta.. and good to see various Spear fans who I know from the north of England make the trip north.
Also, good to catch up with Bruce for lunch. Di Maggios never lets us down!! How nice it was to meet up with Karen too in her place of work.. Pity we didn't have longer to chat, but I'm sure we'll make up for lost time in December!!
