I've a bit of info about Digsy and the Sums, well Digsy anyway  Smile

Digsy used to be the lead singer with Cook Da Books in the 80s. They used to be knocking about when China Crisis first started out, and they were from Fazakerley. My friend Jeannette and I went to see them a few times, and they were really good. They got some interesting support slots, notably with Men At Work and Joan Armatrading. Around that time, a lot of Liverpool bands broke through big time, but Cook Da Books missed out, though they were quite well known in the Liverpool area, thanks to singles like Piggy In The Middle Eight (about the Toxteth riots) and Low Profile. There is a track by Oasis called Digsy's Diner, about the same Digsy..

I haven't seen him for some years though, not since the Cook Da Books days.

No, it was when he got mifed about being overlooked for England. He spat the dumy out and 'Retired' from international football. A TalkSport presenter called him a bottler and said it was a disgrace that a professional footballer didn't want to play for his country. Carragher rang the presenter up and went off it on live radio! Aye, he offered the bloke a fight! It was hilarious  Laughing

Then there was that incident at Luton Town...dear me  Rolling Eyes
