Where would you like to see AFGM play, venue and town?[b]With AFGM Playing in the Portpatrick Village Hall, where do you think they should play next, and why?

As they play quite a lot of Simple Minds they should consider dates in Belgium and Germany as both these countries have a massive SM following. There has also been substantial media interest in Simple Minds there, more than the UK in my opinion, so I think its worth a try.
I would love to see them in the Hamburg area just because I have friends there who would love to see AFGM and travel is cheap & easy from Glasgow. Sorry I cant help with a venue but I think May would be a good time.

venuesBorderline is a bit small for the size of show we put on,(and I hope I don't come up as guest again). The stage at the Academy in Islington ,the smaller venue, is also too small.maybe if we do the main venue. There's even the Water rets theatre at Kings Cross, but again the sfage size is wrong. Hmmmmm

will you know i wouldnt miss a gig ,with a hangover, i had plans to meet derek have a beer and get him to sign some old 7" discs, but as you know the local neds put paid to that and a little trip to paisley hospital didnt help,so does any one want to buy a unused ticket,
but getting back to the topic it would seem that after the last couple of glasgow gigs there is a good shout for a good size brittish tour but it has to be before march as mr.harris will be going on a world tour with numan.

Hi Magnus, Good to see you here!

I would really love to see A Few Good Men play at "The Big Weekend" in Galashiels. www.thebigweekend-borders.co.uk
Having been a Big Country and Simple Minds fan for years (more than I care to mention), I think AFGM would be a brilliant addition to the already great line-up (which includes Deacon Blue).

That event looks like a corker, CP.. Even if they didn't manage to get on this years list, it would be great to see them doing it in the future. I love the borders, and it would be a great excuse to go!!

Would it be possible for FOURGOODMEN to put on a show in Glasgow around Xmas time. You could invite other musicians to guest, maybe at a Barrowlands show? I would certainly be up for coming to a show like that. I think you are a tremendous band. I saw you at Falkirk and was gobsmacked at how good you were. Ian's voice was perfect, and Jane never stopped all day. Her voice is superb too. You should publish more photographs of the girl Piper too. The show really lifts,(if that is possible), when the girl plays the bagpipes on 'In a Big Country'. More of that please..You are the best band I have seen in ages, so please play more in Scotland.
thanks for your time

We'll play Dunoon anytime, don't worry about that. Let us know the venue that would be suitable. We are a Scottish band, so we will play anywhere that wants us. I can stay with my good friends just up from Strachur....

Derek,
When are you and your merry men planning a sojourn north to The Granite City.
If Spear can make it here then sure you can !!
PS - Saw SOD at Westworld Weekend 5, wasn't the same without your bass, those little touches on Europa etc.
Hope we see you soon with 4GM or SOD.

Derek,
Are you familiar with the Lemon Tree venue in Aberdeen ?
A great venue for gigs and probably around the right size, the Dead Men Walking played there last year, so Kirk and Liam will know all about it. Bruce will know it too as he was there and has been with Big Country.
They have a website you can check out.
Just saw Roddy Frame there last week.
That's your best bet, if not then my back garden could accommodate a few hundred at a squeeze !!.
Cheers, Stewart

emm....hate to keep on about this but errmm.....
Please come to Toronto soon. No shortage of venues here for your caliber. The Docks, The Phoenix, The Opera House, Massey Hall to name a few. Outdoor venues like the Molson Amphitheatre (formerly "Forum") or Kingswood Music Theatre, or Molson Park (Barrie) etc.
I'll watch the tour dates - it'd be one of the only few reasons for the wife And I to get a rare night out.
Thanks

It's happening. It's really happening!
They're coming to Toronto, booked at The Opera House November 25. (Wear a jumper lads, its a wee bit cold here at that time)
Oh wait, you're all Scots, so it'll feel warmer than usual for you I suppose.....
Anyway, I don't want to try to take any credit or anything, but just have a wee peek at the venues I suggested they play. O, what's that? The Opera House oh, interesting!
Can't wait. Beers on me! (hopefully not literally, ahem...)
Cheers
