Loretta,
I take it you're train is heading for Newcastle, if so, just get a Metro to South Shields from Newcastle central station and you'll be there in no time.

| Nikki has been in touch with me to let me know that there is an after show gig in a pub called the Marsden Rattler. The group are called Malarky, and Andy (who booked 4GM for the amphitheatre gig) is in the band. |

Hi Ali.. Great minds have same musical tastes,
I went to see the Beautiful South/Aberfeldy at the Empress Ballroom, Blackpool last night. There were a good few people on stage, but not quite the 22 you counted!! |

Aye, that's reet pet. He has a reputation for managing dodgy bands........he he he. I wonder if the Aberfeldy keyboard player is still wearing her space boots in this heat .......phew ! I couldn't help thinkin' the singer beared a slight resemblance to Paddy McAloon from Prefab Sprout, and what was that bass player doing with his heed, a thowt the bugger was garna fall off |

December dates for the Beautiful South have already been announced.. I am toying with the idea of having a pre-Christmas night out at either Manchester or Sheffield. Either way, it should be a stormer if Blackpool is anything to go by.. |

Aye, didn't know they were doing more dates in 2006 mind you.
Deacon Blue tickets go on sale today, toyed with the idea but decided against it in the end. Another scottish band that had some canny tunes in the charts, their debut album 'Raintown' being one of Tabnabs fave albums ever
I've got a couple of tickets for New Order in October but work commitments have scuppered that one, looks like ebay will be seeing them.
Anyways, hope 4GM rehearsals went well last neet, still wondering who the mystery guitarist is though ???? Must be a scot, quoted as being one of the best, maybe a Glesgae link in there ???? Well it might me little Jimmy from Cambuslang eh........MIDGE URE He used to play with various musicians in the Princes Trust back in the 80's so he'll be used to this kinda set up. I'm probably wrong though and it'll be Val Doonican or summat. His arran cardy will come in handy if there's a stiff breeze comin' in off tha north sea eh. Hey lads, if yiz are stuck for a guitarist then Tabnab'll help yiz oot, av pulled the owld banjo string a few times !!
It's been hot down in Gods Country all this week, hope it stays that way for Satda. The ladies aren't wearin' much either. Some right crackers walkin' alang the beach, a few boilers anarl mind you. Once av got me beer goggles on though they'll look like Elle McFookinPherson......he he........'That looks like a cheap drink yiv got there pet, can a buy yer another'
Hey Derek, will there be any merchandise on sale then kidda ????
4GM T-Shirts
Cd's
Badges
pillow cases
Jane Button soap on a rope [for givin' me 'Town Halls' the once owa]
Just wonderin like ??? |

Of course it will gorgeous
Just ignore all the daft Geordies when ye geroff the bus Loretta, chocker block with c.s.e's the lorra them. Being a Mackem am not owa fond o' the Geordie race ya see pet. Some o' the women frighten me though, built like Garth wi' home made tattoo's spelt wrang !!!
Gallowgate eh, it was the Gallowgate end where Alan Shearer scored most of eez goals, or should I say......penalties !!!!
Ya might hev a tad bother understandin' the Geordie lingo mind Loretta, not like Tabnab who speaks queens english at all times.......he he Nowt but oranged faced shell-suit clad slappers, eight bairns in tow [usually called Chantelle, Alexandria, etc etc] to dee a spot o' shopliftin'.....he he. I once visited a workmates house in Newcastle, a nearly passed oot off the fag smoke, hey.....a kid yer not......ON A CLEAR DAY YA COULD SEE THE MANTLE PEICE !!!!!! There bloody dog wouldn't stop lickin' it's balls either [lucky bastit]
Aye Loretta, once yer out of the Forbidden City yel be allreet. Life gets a bit more pleasant as yer head towards South Shields, not much mind, but it does improve.....trust me Once ya hit 'Sand Dancer Land' head along the main street [ocean Road] towards the fairground, just beyond that is the Sundial pub [I hope yer printin' this off] and just past that is the Marsden Rattler. The Rattler is another pub which is built round a converted train carraige. The Amphitheatre is just a bit further along from that, next to Minchella's ice-cream parlour/coffee shop.
Watch out for a lunatic Indian gentleman, whoever he is
