However, you are more than welcome at the October meet up, it would be great to catch up with you in "real life". It might be an idea to see what the flight prices are to Prestwick Airport rather than Glasgow itself, or maybe Edinburgh. Get back to me and let me know.. |
Yes, we are on a budget. So if a December gig is being planned, I better continue saving to be assured to be there. It's very hard to be patient though....
I've just checked out flight schedules and prices to Edinburgh, but it still is a huge amount of money. A simple weekend, only flights and hostel, will already cost us a couple of hundred Euros!
If it weren't for the kids and family in Holland, I would have left Holland to live in Scotland for sure!!! I miss too much!
So there it is: we have to continue saving, until we definately will meet in December!! I know we will pull that one off! Still a couple of months to earn extra money.

Hi Edith.
Amsterdam > Edinburgh easyJet...you can also take a bus to Glasgow from there, its quite easy. I have done that before.
Also if you land on Prestwick the train will take you to Glasgow central no problem.
I am going on the 8th of December from Amsterdam to Belfast and going back from London around the 15th and the flights are pretty cheap then. The flights are much more expensive around xmas time .
Hope you will be able to sort something out. |

I bet you have more money to spend, we are on a very tight budget here. No, I will take Shirls advise and wait until the December gig. _________________ You know I can't resist you!

Ohh I wish , nope I have been working overtime and need to do that untill december to pay for all the gigs/flights/hotels/trains/busses and taxi's.
We also didn't have much of a holiday this year although we were lucky enough to spend 7 days near Loch Lomond in my lovely friends house .
I don't mind at all to work overtime because I know when its December it will all be worth it . |

Hi Regina.. I think Edith was weighing up the options of
a) meeting fans
or
b) meeting fans, gig and band meet up..
Looking forward to seeing you again soon

I meant that I only have money for one event abroad and Shirl described my thoughts exactly right. Almost everybody on here knows that we have a very tight budget, sorry if Regina misunderstood my words.
And as Derek mailed me to confirm that there actually is a gig planned on the 27th of December, I an chosing option b)!!
Just got the approval of my boss to take a couple of days off, so I will definately be coming to Glasgow in December! _________________ You know I can't resist you!

Well....I told you I can be moody
Have to see if I can make either one of those meet ups......maybe one of the Belgium nutters likes to travel(again) on the ferrie from Zeebrugge-Rosyth.....Great memories on that ferrie!
Wish I remember the hotel we stayed on during the convention a few years back.....Maybe my roomie Viviane still knows?Cos it wasn't an expensive one and central lokated.....Thought it was Victoria or Victorian hotel,I'm not sure.

Will the gig on the 27th be in Glasgow though, 'cause I thought certain ladies were trying to get FGM to play in Liverpool around that time...
Now if herr Weller would be in that area around the same time, that would be perfect |

Well, I asked Derek about a Glasgow gig and he said it would be on the 27th at a venue yet to be determined. So I assume it's in Glasgow. _________________ You know I can't resist you!

I've been thinking - always a dangerous thing : instead of all going to Glasgow, why not come over to Brussels for my birthday bash on the 26th |

It's become a 'ritual' for the 4GM boys to play a Glasgow gig in the week between Christmas and New Year.
Previous gigs have been fantastic!
Everyone is in party mode and ready to rock!!
if the 27th is penciled in I'll be making damn sure I'll be at that one because it doesn't look like I'll see them play before then
but if the last pre gig meet-up,gig,after gig meet-up is anything to go by it's a "Not to be missed!" affair _________________ Hyde |

So if there really is a gig planned in Dec. I have to change my plans - I can`t afford two flights ( the 26th/27th is already too expensive for a short weekend - but still my fav. date ) - and if I have the chance to put three in one.... ( fans, gig, glasgow ) - well....... the thing is - I have to decide it very fast - because not cancelling my october-flight in time costs a lot of money and all is paid already.....
Any hints ???
Because of splitting up my relationship with Martin I already missed Rotherham - I don`t want to miss another gig !!!
